BOOK BAN DEBACLE
Danielle's Smith's Book Ban was a publicity stunt gone awry!
The 4 books that sparked the controversy were most definitely inappropriate, but these books weren't in every school - they were in ONE school and were the product of ONE person's mistake! A good leader would have handled it with common sense and maturity. But because our premier is petty and manipulative, she saw it as the political fodder she needed to gaslight the public into thinking our school system is incompetent and the government needs to rein it in!
So...
- Danielle Smith dictates a book ban to teachers the day before school starts (because teachers have nothing better to do but to pack up all of their books the day before school)!
- The policies laid out in the book ban are targeted at topics designed to ignite and agitate both the left and right (get people angry - great leadership, Dani-Girl!)
- The School Board abides by the book ban and makes it public that the policies - as written - include books that are classics and timeless literary works
- There is a huge public outcry
- Danielle Smith realizes her plan backfires, rescinds her book ban and then blames the School Boards for "politicizing" the issue by not using "common sense"
Hate to tell y'all ~ but THAT'S GASLIGHTING!
Danielle Smith showed her cards in this moment, and this is when I decided to run for School Board Trusteee! This book ban revealed Danielle Smith's plan to break the school system so she can convince the public that it isn't working and the ONLY solution is privatization.
We complacently allowed her to do this to our Healthcare System ~ we cannot let her do the same to our Public School System!
Our Public Schools are facing a serious threat and this election will determine if we vote in a School Board that will FIGHT or acquiesce...
